JOHN UREN

John Uren, born 1995, is an award-winning British composer & arranger.

He writes loosely-definable music ranging from works for orchestra to experiments with conversation-cut-ups and ambient noise, often characterised by the blending of acoustic and electronic elements into a subtle, understated and fragile palette. His music has been performed and work-shopped by artists including the BBC Singers, the Phaedra Ensemble, Dark Inventions, Juice Vocal EnsembleManchester Camerata and LIME Arts at venues/festivals including New Music North West, The International Anthony Burgess Foundation, York Spring Festival of New Music, and Café OTO; broadcast on BBC Radio 3.

John studied composition at the Royal Northern College of Music, under the tutelage of Dr. Emily Howard and Dr. Larry Goves. He is based in Manchester and provides Original Composition, Arranging, Orchestration and Music Engraving (professionally typesetting a music score onto computer)
